Acupuncture is a very ancient healing therapy, it has become a treasure forms part of traditional Chinese medicine. Based on Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment with the guidance of the meridian theory, it can regulate body energy (Qi) flow in order to balance Qi and Blood, harmonize internal organs, reinforce immunity, expel external pathogen and achieving healing disease and maintaining health.

Acupressure (a blend of "acupuncture" and "pressure") is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) technique derived from acupuncture. In acupressure physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points by the hand, elbow, or with various devices.

The following are some basic acupuncture pointes that can be used for acupressure.

 

 

 
Point Location  
LR3 On the dorsum of the foot, in the depression posterior to the first metatarsal interspace. headache, vertigo, hypertension, PMS, regulate Qi.
LI4 Between 1st and the 2nd metacarpal bones, at the midpoint of the radial side of the 2nd metacarpal bone. Fever of cold, tonsillitis, facial pain, regulate Qi.
PC6 On the line joinging PC7(Daling) and  
ST36 3 cun below Dubi(ST35, in the depression lateral patellar ligment and patella, when bending the knee.), one finger-breath from the anterior crest of the tibia. Abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, constipation, period problem, headache, hypertension, increase immunity.
BL23 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of L2  
BL32 In the 2nd posterior sacral foramen, between the posterior superior iliac spine and the posterior meidline. back pain, impotence, menstrual problem
BL37 6 cun below BL36 (Chengfu midpoint of the inferior gluteal line), on the line joinging BL36 and BL39. back and lumbar pain, sciatica, lower limbs pain
BL40 On the lateral end of the popliteal crease, on the medidal border of the femoral bicepts muscle. back and lumbar pain, sciatica, lower limbs pain
BL57 When straightening the leg ot lifting the heel, in the triangular depression inferior to th ebelly of gatrocneminus muscle, on the line between BL40 and BL60 (Kunlun, posterior to lateral malleolus, in the depression between the aspex of the lateral malleolus and the achilles tendon) back and lumbar pain, sciatica, lower limbs pain
GB30 When lying laterally with the thigh bent, at the mid-lateral one-third point of the line joining the most prominant point of the greater trochanter of the femur and hiatus of sacrum. back and lumbar pain, sciatica, lower limbs pain, hernia
GB34 In the depression inferior to the small head of the fibula Swelling knee with pain, hypochondria pain, period pain.
ST25 In the centre abdominal region, 2 cun lateral to the umbilicus. abdominal distension, diarrhoea, constipation, irregular menses, period pain, loss weight.
LI11 On the lateral end of elbow crease, when the forearm flexed at the midpoint of the line connecting LI5 and lateral epicondyle of humerus. Hypertension, constipation, tennis elbow.
Du20 5 cun above th emidpoint of the anterior hairline, or at the midpoint of the arc line joining each ear apex. Headache, dizziness
Taiyang In the depression of temple, 1 cun posterior to the midpoint of the line joining the end of eyebrow and lateral canthus. Vertigo, headache, trigeminal neuralgia, tire of eyes.
Ashi where the pain is
