  Remedial Massage/Tuina

Tuina, the Chinese name for Chinese Massage, is the oldest healing method since the ancient time. It has more than 2000 years of histories and Tuina was developed with many specific technique, indications and specialization such as pediatric/child Tuina for many child illness from diarrhea, poor appetite or constipations.

Principle of Tuina treating soft tissue injuries

Soft tissues includes muscle, tendon, tendinous sheaths, ligaments, fascia, joint capsule, cartilage and intervertebral disc.. etc. Injuries of soft tissue is often a pathological progression due to external trauma, pressure, compression, hyper-extension, forced twitch or chronic over strain. Regardless the cause is acute or chronic, the common symptom is pain. In Chinese Medicine theory, when physical body had traumatic injury, it damaged the meridian and resulting Blood (substannces) forced out of vessel and caused bruises; the collaterals  also had damages blocked the free flow of Qi and Blood which caused the pain. Basic treatment principles used in Tuina includes:

1. relax tendon activates collaterals. Mechanical injuries to the muscles and tendons often caused the tightness' of muscles and tendons to prevent further damages to the injured body parts. This at the same time could also compress the surrounding nerve ending and blood vessels, which causes pain. Tuina can suppress the excited pain sensation, i.e. reduce pain and relax the tightened muscle and tendons also to promote blood circulation in order to promote healing; which by the theory itself is to promote free flow of Qi and Blood. Laboratory study also shown an increased natural muscle endorphin release after Tuina.

2. Invigorate Blood Circulation and  expel Blood stasis. After soft tissue injury, the blood capillaries broken and internal bleeding caused bruises and swelling and pain. Pathological progression often leads to fibrosis, scaring etc. Technique of Tuina such as rolling, rubbing and kneading can help to increase Blood Circulation around joints, promote metabolism, oxuygen exchange iat the cellular level, and elasticity of tendons and muscle, which also helps in preventing muscle atrophy.

3. Promote tendon healing. Tuina technique often has regulate and healing effect on partial tendon damages and twitching. The protrusion of intervertebral disc often resulting lower back pain and sciatic pain;

Each massage is customized and designed to fit your personal needs. Choose from a variety of massage services to relieve the negative effects of everyday stress, reduce tension, and eliminate muscle pain.

Intervertebral disc protrusion often result in lower back pain, sciatic pain, limitation of lumbar movement and difficulty of walking. Tuina technique may reduce the protrusion or change its position to reduce the pressure on the nerves and reduce the pain.

Cupping
Massage cupping is an exciting modern adaptation of the ancient art of cupping therapy. Cupping is a subtle, yet powerful addition to any healthcare practice and complements many healing modalities. This technique is also easily used at home for treating many common conditions.

Shiatsu
The techniques used in this massage come from the Chinese theory of Qi to manipulate the circulation of energy in the body that controls the internal organs and the body's metabolism. This massage is great for chronic tension and promotes comfort in areas of stiffness and pain. The technique applies pressure at the acupuncture points until the person felt the Qi sensation, which can be sore, heavy ... etc.

Reflexology
Reflexology is an alternative medicine method involving the practice of massaging, squeezing, or pushing on parts of the feet, or sometimes the hands and ears, with the goal of encouraging a beneficial effect on other parts of the body, or to improve general health.

There is no consensus among reflexologists on how reflexology is supposed to work; a unifying theme is the idea that areas on the foot correspond to areas of the body, and that by manipulating these one can improve health through one's qi.

Concerns have been raised by medical professionals that treating potentially serious illnesses with reflexology, which has no proven efficacy, could delay the seeking appropriate medical treatment. Appropriate referral to orthopaedic specialist or podiatrist is required by the professionals.
